Day 106

First order of business:  Happy Halloween!  To commemorate this occasion, let's take a look at some of Kate's costumes over the year. Even future queens like to roller skate in leg warmers! And then, on November 1st, all the fashionistas started wearing bat capes... I feel like William might really like this one. And my personal favorite: Pocahontas in a cocktail dress and cardigan! Sadly, I did not dress up today.  Mostly because I was going to go as Kate and it was cold and I was lazy and it hurricaned outside when I would have gone shopping.  Sorry to disappoint. Breakfast was two cups of water and two hours worth of meetings.  Don't be jealous!  0 points Lunch was half of an Asian Chopped Chicken Salad (soooo good) with dressing on the side from Pei Wei.  I also had a bowl of wonton soup 'cause baby it's cold outside.  And a glass of water.  Kathy and Linzi also had salads, and we shamed Jason in to feeling bad about his non-salad option

Day 105

Breakfast was a banana and a cup of water.   Total: 0 points Lunch was a half cup of rice and a quarter cup of chana masala.  Such discipline!(I really wanted to go back for more.  In fact, I still do.)  Plus some raita and two cups of milk.   Total: 9 points Dinner was also a Restraint-fest.  We went to Bonefish to get out of the house, and I ate one tiny piece of bread with olive oil.  Then I ordered a salad and asked for oil and vinegar to go with it.  Then I got the Lily's Chicken (chicken, goat cheese, spinach, artichokes) with mashed potatoes and green beans, and took half home with me.   I passed up bang bang shrimp, people!  And beer!  And all sorts of fried things and cheesy things and things drenched in butter.  And then I drank three glasses of unsweetened tea.   Total: 13 points After that I did wii fit, which included boxing, jogging, hula hooping (I'm really good at that one now), a marching game, and that one where you hit the mushrooms with your h

Day 104

Ahh, the perils of working at home. Because the storm was coming, I responded appropriately by cooking all of the bacon.  So breakfast was three slices of low fat bacon (Andrew--protein!), a hard boiled egg (Andrew--protein!), a banana, and small slice of zucchini bread.  Plus a cup of water.   Total: 8 points Then Chris lost his mind and decided he needed to get us lunch from Chick-fil-a.  Mmm hmmm.  So I had seven nuggets (Andrew--protein!) because Fitch stole one from me.  Then I had a cup and a half of grape tomatoes with ranch dip made with fat free sour cream.  And four glasses of unsweetened tea.   Total: 7 points Snack was four tootsie rolls, a quarter cup of snack mix, and 19 pieces of candy corn.  And if you hate candy corn, I have this to say to you: more for me.  Total: 7 completely not worth it points Oooh, is there a matching necklace? Dinner was two sliders (Andrew--protein), a cup of apple, pretzels and hummus.  Plus another glass of water.   Total: 1

Day 103

I'm such a terrible blogger!  First, because I haven't been updating.  Second, because I have been gaining and losing the same two pounds for the past month.  Argh!  Dammit, you people, hold me accountable! If only they made food confessionals. So we'll reset with Saturday's weigh in, with 23 pounds to go. :(  And Sunday's food, which actually wasn't that bad.  And!  We got other people to pay for it/make it for us! Breakfast was courtesy of Chris' dad (okay, we brought the Groupon) at Eggspectation.  It was a half piece of wheat toast, a cup of mixed fruit, a hard boiled egg in an egg cup (Andrew--protein!), and two little slices of Canadian bacon (Andrew--more protein!)  Plus three glasses of unsweetened tea.  And all of the servers were dressed up for Halloween.  Sadly, we got a third-rate looking Tim Tebow and not the slutty looking Bumblebee.  Sad.    Total: 5 points Soooooo fancy! Lunch was with my parents, and I had a big salad of lettuce

Day 102

Breakfast was a banana and two cups of water.   Total: 0 points Hooray for bananas! My lovely and wonderful office mate Kathy brought in a veggie tray, so snack was a cup of tomatoes and carrots, with a tablespoon of ranch dressing.  Kathy did not even chastise me for leaving all of the broccoli and celery.   Total: 2 points Lunch was three ounces of parking lot bbq chicken, a baby tangerine, a salad that was a cup of lettuce, a quarter cup tomatoes, and a quarter cup cucumbers, with a teaspoon of olive oil.  Dessert was everyone's favorite--two tablespoons of chocolate chips!  Also two more cups of water.  (Possibly four more cups of water--I honestly don't remember.)   Total: 6 points Yoga tonight was awesome.  Except for the point where I forgot my shoes, so I went to class in yoga capris, a tshirt and high heels.  It was super foxy looking. Dinner was tuna and brown rice sushi, a cup of milk, and a cup of water.   Total: 10 points Snack was an ounce and

Day 101

The day started by sleeping off the carbs and alcohol of the past few days, then lying in bed and asking myself "whhhhhhhhhy?!?!".  Breakfast was two glasses of water and a cup of tomatoes.  Total: 0 points Lunch was a very responsible three ounces of parking lot bbq chicken (purchased by Brent & Brooke as an attempt to buy their way out of the shame squad--it worked!), a big salad with two cups of lettuce, a half cup of tomatoes, a quarter cup of cucumbers, and a teaspoon of oil.  Plus two cups of skim milk.  Total: 9 points Brooke went a step further to distance herself from the Shame Squad and went for a 20 minute walk with me, even though she wasn't feeling well.  The boys did not come with us.  They told us to take the opportunity to talk about "girl things."  We talked about bee stings, early voting, and P90X.  I'm not sure if those quality as girl things or not. "OMG I love the color pink and glitter and Barbies!" Snack was ele

Days 99 and 100

Programming Note: We're skipping Wednesday and Thursday, because I ate well, exercised, and they were boring.  I cannot say the same for Friday and Saturday. Brace yourself for massive amounts of shaming. Friday started off by taking our lovely out-of-town guests Brent and Brooke to a Mexican restaurant.  The four of us love hole in the wall places, so we headed to La Tolteca in Manassas.  I actually did pretty well (for a Mexican restaurant, at least) by having three glasses of water, 3/4 of a bean burrito, 12 chips with salsa, and a side salad of guac, lettuce and tomatoes.  Total: 16 points Snack was half of a sausage on pretzel bread sandwich, with a few chips and half a pickle.   Total: 10 points Then there was dinner.  Heh.  It included: Two glasses of really good wine, provided by Don. Lots of amazing cheese, also provided by Beckie. A half cup of delicious squash, provided by Robin & Jason.  The reason it was delicious?  Brown sugar and unh

Day 98

Tuesday's food situation was awesome.  I will admit that I sometimes begrudgingly eat yet ANOTHER cup of tomatoes with olive oil, or drink one more freaking glass of milk, or eat pretzels just so I can say I had some whole grains.  But not Tuesday! Breakfast was two glasses of water.  Okay, that's not that exciting.  Total: 0 points Lunch was at Macaroni Grill with Coworker Kathy, who has excellent decorating taste, and Coworker Jason, who is one of the few people that can pull off green plaid successfully.  I had the minestrone soup (and picked out most of the pasta), a caprese salad, and two big pieces of bread with two-ish teaspoons of olive oil.  Plus two glasses of unsweetened tea.  Total: 10 points Mid-day snack was two cups of apple, followed by a walk with coworkers.  Also three glasses of water. Total: 0 points Dinner was the best  filet mignon I have ever eaten, expertly grilled by Chris and purchased from Lothar.  We also had baked potatoes with reduced fat

Day 97

My job has an awesome wellness program--besides having nurses, a gym, weight watchers, and exercise classes on site, we also get to the chance to earn gift cards for doing healthy things (up to $400 a year!).  There are also team challenges, and one of them started yesterday.  So brace yourself for hearing about my pedometer, as this is a step challenge.  I'm the team captain, and my team members consist of everyone in The Room, in an effort to get us out of The Room.  God help us. In addition to walking/exercising, we can earn steps by drinking water (up to 8 cups) and eating fruits & veggies (up to 5 half cup servings).  Mwah ha ha ha ha. So breakfast was four cups of water.   Total: 0 points Lunch was a cup of white beans (Andrew--protein), a cup of tomatoes with a teaspoon of olive oil,  three mini cornbread muffins and two more cups of water.   Total: 10 points Snack was four bites of pecan pie: Total: 4 points Exercise was yoga and a 20 minute walk with
