Day 174

Weigh in day was yesterday, and I lost .6, which I guess is better than nothing?  18 pounds to go. So, anyway, breakfast was a latte and two glasses of water.   Total: 2 points  Lunch was a skinny TKY, half a giant pickle, two more glasses of water, and a piece of chocolate.  All hail the Potbelly Overlords!   Total: 7 points Dinner was at Ford's Fish Shack which is a-maz-ing.  I had five oysters, a salad with goat cheese, a mini cornbread muffin, angry mussels (mussels, chorizo, tomatoes, onions, bread), a glass each of wine and water, and five bites of the most delicious blueberry pie ever. Total: 23 points Today's Fine Art in Blogging painting is by Cameron Hampton . Exercise was 20 minutes of wii fit, including yoga, which meant the return of this  character.  It felt good to exercise, but damn, I'm out of shape. Oh, hi there, Heather. Oscar Dresses, Rated

Fun fact: Kristin Stewart's dress was crafted out of cotton balls by slave children.  (Still a better love story than Twilight.) Bradley Cooper obviously got his looks from his dad.  His mom is a hot mess in...whatever this is.  And tennis shoes. Sunrise Coigney wears a dress that most likely got one of the contestants voted off Project Runway . Naomi Watts' seamstress forgot to finish her dress, but she wore it anyway. So brilliant of Anne Hathaway to conceal two torpedos in a pale pink dress.  Security will never look there! We get it, Helena Bohnam Carter.  You're weird.  Do you think she just has a closet full of ill-fitting, weird black dresses? Marcia Gay Hayden, you should really have that rash on your arms looked at.  What--those are the sleeves on your dress?   Ohhhhhh.  Never mind, then, girl.  You're pretty. Queen Latifah is now a plus sized model for David's Bridal.  Who knew? Jacki Weaver wins the "Arts and Crafts" divi

Day 173

Before we get in to what I ate, here's a picture of my spice rack, since you guys like it when I organize things.  But there's no before and after pics because the spice rack is alphabetized in matching bottles all the time. Don't hate--congratulate. If you're interested in the bottles, you can order them on Amazon here , and if you're interested in saving lots of money on spices, you should check out My Spice Sage , which sells spices at a ridiculously low price and shipping is free for orders over $10. So anyway, breakfast was an egg, roasted tomatoes, potatoes, wheat toast, fruit, and two cups of hot tea.  Thanks, future father-in-law, for breakfast!   Total: 9 points Snack was a clementine, four tootsie rolls, a cup of water, and a cup of hot ginger tea.   Total: 1 point   I'm still feeling under the weather, but this time I can tell it is because my sinuses are stuffy.  Hence all the hot tea.  (Also a humidifier, saline rinse, and a lot of OTC dr

Day 172

Breakfast was pills because my head hurt and my throat hurt.  I have successfully fended off whatever this is about three times, but my kung fu powers are only so strong. Just a spoonful of pseudophedrine! Lunch was eight chicken nuggets, a big salad with a teaspoon of olive oil, and two cups of iced tea. Total: 8 points Then I drank three glasses of hot tea and had a gummy vitamin.   Total: 0 points Chris got me some awesome tea from Fortnum and Mason for Christmas.  My tea setup isn't as fancy as theirs, though. Dinner was five pieces of spicy tuna sushi made with brown rice, plus a clementine and a glass of water.  Total: 5 points Our "fine art in blogging" series continues with this lovely painting by Abbey Ryan . Then I had a cup of hot chocolate, which was mostly skim milk with a suggestion of Ovaltine.   Total: 2 points Don't worry--the reason I didn't have a lot to eat is because I felt under the weather, not because I was trying to star

Damn. It.

The last time I gave a weight update was January 30th.  And I have gained 7.2 pounds since then.  Go ahead and gasp--I know I did. We'll go ahead and give this a Beatrice,  looking like a hot mess and smoking a cigarette. So what happened?  Well, we went to Disney World.  And I don't actually mind a controlled gain for an awesome vacation.  Out of all of the beer, filet mignon, mac & cheese, poached eggs with hollandaise sauce and hash, I regret nothing--NOTHING!  Vacation is to be enjoyed. "But who cares, no big deal, I want MOOOOOOOORE (macaroni)." What I do regret is the other two weeks of poor eating either because work is stressful or poor planning on my part.  The handfuls of Valentine's Day candy, giant cookies, break room cake, and chip binges were not worth it. So the plan this week is: 1) Blog what I eat and if I exercise every day, even if it sucks. 2) Go to the grocery store, and have healthy snacks and meals ready for home and for

Day 171

Breakfast was a clementine and a cup of water.   Total: 0 points Lunch was some delicious old bay shrimp, and then I made some orzo (subbed whole grain orzo, part skim mozzarella, olive oil) and roasted asparagus  with olive oil.  Dessert was a mini ice cream sandwich.  And two glasses of water.  Total: 12 points So much yum! Then I cleaned out my closet and drank a glass of water.  While it is true that I do organize my clothes by season and then by rainbow color order... ...the shoe and dresser situations had gotten out of hand. Shoe explosion! Dresser explosion! After it was all done, I had 80 items to donate to charity... Tax deductible! In the end, it looked like this: Yay for me! Then I did 25 minutes of EA Active and drank 2 glasses of water.  Post-workout snack was an ounce and a half of fat free feta, a teaspoon of olive oil, and a cup of tomatoes.   Total: 2 points After that, I went to get Indian takeout because Chris wasn't feelin

Day 170

Breakfast was sleeping.   Lunch was two stacked tostadas and two glasses of water.   Total: 7 points Snack was a short skinny vanilla latte.  Total: 2 points Chris said that I got the "smallest cup of coffee ever." Then we did a little purging and organizing--we went through all the books/dvds/games and traded in $107 worth of stuff to Amazon.  Yay!  And I cleaned out the hot mess that was the tupperware cabinet. Before. After. Dinner was with the Superfriends at The V!  I had carrots & celery with hummus, a few ounces of chicken, green beans, and total restraint on some mashed potatoes.  This was followed by more total restraint on some vanilla ice cream.  And finally, a glass of wine and two glasses of water.   Total: 13 points Then we played Cards Against Humanity, which is always a highly inappropriate time. This is actually pretty tame. After that, I did 25 minutes of EA Active, which was so intense that I needed 3 hits off the rescue inhal
