For the uninitiated, Pinterest is a photo-sharing pinboard style web site, where you can managed different boards by type. It's a great way to collect all of your favorite Kate Middleton pictures in one place! Also, where else can you pin a recipe for a chocolate cake, in addition to a workout designed to help you work off the calories of the aforementioned cake?
At any rate, I made a wedding board on Pinterest, and we actually did a lot of the things I pinned. The big joke among pinners is that they never even attempt the ideas they pin, and when they do, the results are disastrous (but funny).
So on to the wedding (and thanks to Virginia, Trey, Kiki, Andrea, Sam, and Amy's Chris for the pics)!
First, there was the photo wall, made by my father-in-law, Ray. This turned out to be a big hit, and Ray did an awesome job considering I sent him one picture and told him to just do whatever he wanted.
This was the Pinterest inspiration:
And here's the final product, courtesy of Amy, the internet, and some twine:
I pinned this band, which ended up matching perfectly with my engagement ring:
To be fair, I pinned the ring after Chris proposed--it's an antique, and I've only ever seen one picture of it online.
Something old meets something new!
Pinterest was where I found the wood invitation inspiration:
And Etsy delivered by having lots of vendors that made them. Plus, they biodegrade faster than paper invites!
Chris' contribution was wanting these dinosaur cake toppers:
I looked for something similar, but most of them were cheesy, and in the $100-$150 range. (Ridiculous!) So it was Amy and the craft store to the rescue. Again. Plastic dire wolves--$7. Score!
I knew I wanted a lace dress, and this was my favorite online, but it was made overseas and not available to try on:
This was my dress, which as-is was off-the-sleeve (hello 80's!) so my awesome seamstress modified the sleeves. With a razor. While I was wearing it. Thanks for not slicing me, Tang!
We knew we wanted lawn games on the farm:
And once again, Amy & Ray delivered, along with the really nice lady that owns the farm--Dot. We had croquet, ladder ball, and cornhole. Our amazing photographer Brooke, from Brooke Ramsey Photography, made this cute collage:
I showed Amy & Colleen this dress picture for an idea of the color I wanted.
The dresses came from Ebay for around $60 each. Original retail was $289 at David's. And they looked great in them--score!
This is a totally brilliant idea for cards from Pinterest:
And I totally stole it!
Megan, Amy, Her Chris, My Chris, and my employer all helped with pallets in some way, based on this Pinspiration:
It turned out exactly how we wanted.
If you know me, you know my obsession with antlers (faux, of course), so I loved this guest book:
We decided on the tree theme instead. Thanks, Etsy!
Again, there are endless options for bouquets. This is the closest I got to finding something I liked for me:
And Chris signed off on this:
So we were really happy with this:
And this:
Although Game of Thrones was the main inspiration:
My hairdresser of 15+ years, Pam, did a kick ass job. I loved my Middleton-meets-Middle Earth style:
That's all, peeps! Coming soon: Verner vs. Middleton wedding throwdown--stay tuned!

Anna pinned this image to Pinterest:
And we used it on the front of the program cover. Thanks, Anna!

I liked to think that ours turned out much better! I misspelled Viognier on the bar menu. (I was drinking beer at the time.)
The cake decor options were overwhelming, so I'm glad I found this pin:
